The short version

Wow Work runs on your Mac. Your dictation history, settings and main task are stored on your Mac and nowhere else. We don't run analytics or ads in the app, and we don't sell anything about you.

Your voice

When you dictate, the recording is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, and the text is sent to OpenAI once more to remove filler words and fix punctuation. If you use your own OpenAI API key, these requests go straight from your Mac to OpenAI under your account. If you use an invite code, they pass through the Wow Work gateway, which forwards them to OpenAI and keeps only a running total of usage per invite code (to enforce the monthly allowance) — not your audio or text. OpenAI's handling of API data is described in its own privacy policy.

Your files

Organize sends only the names, sizes and dates of the items in the folder you choose — never their contents — so the AI can suggest a structure. Nothing is moved until you apply, removed items go to the Trash, and every clean-up can be undone. Arranging desktop icons happens entirely on your Mac.

Your key and permissions

Your OpenAI key or invite code is stored in the macOS Keychain. Wow Work asks for the Microphone (to hear you), Accessibility (for the shortcut and to type text where your cursor is) and, when you arrange icons, permission to control Finder.

Updates

Wow Work checks GitHub for new versions every few hours. Each update is cryptographically signed and verified before it installs.
